Why Would You Consider Attending A Community College?

Depending on your personal situation, attending a community college may be the best course of action when looking at continuing in education.  It is often found that residential colleges offering long term courses just aren’t a good fit for most people.  If this is you, do not be downhearted.  Check out these great reasons why you may find that community college is a better choice for you;

You may have a family; If you have a family and you need to go to work in order to provide for them, you may find community college is your best option for continued education.  Most community colleges offer courses during the evening and weekends and this will allow you to juggle work, family and study.  This would prove to be very difficult at a residential college that only offers lectures during the day.

Your career doesn’t need high academic levels; If you are hoping to follow a career in a vocational, technological or service business or industry then it is unlikely you will need to gain a full Bachelor’s degree.  If you only need to become certified, then community colleges can be the best option.

Don’t get priced out of further education; If you are short of money, but still want to pursue further education then community colleges can offer you courses at a much cheaper rate than residential colleges.

Unsure of wanting further education; If you still are not totally convinced that you wish to pursue education then residential courses can be a very costly experiment.   Community colleges are not as expensive and can allow you to grow into an opportunity.

Just didn’t get the grades; If you found that your test results were not good enough to get into the residential college of your choice then a community college can be a really great stepping stone so you can improve on your academic abilities and try again in the future.
