About Mark Mills

Mark Mills has taught at Central College since 1999. During the 2006-07 school year, he worked part-time in the test lab at Pella Corporation to learn how mathematics and statistics were used in the working world. He developed the actuarial science major in 2009 and has been gradually developing the program. In 2012, Mills took and passed actuarial Exam P (Probability) and in 2014, he took and passed actuarial Exam FM (Financial Mathematics).

In his free time, he spends time with his wife and two children. Mills is an avid fan of the Nebraska Cornhusker football team–and college football, more generally. He enjoys running, and he ran the Des Moines half-marathon in 2013 and 2015 and the Des Moines marathon in 2014. Mills is a past recipient of the Frank W. Moore Faculty Award.
