About Wendy Weber

Wendy Weber has taught at Central College since 1999. Her favorite classes to teach are calculus I, geometry, mathematical concepts (for elementary teachers) and mathematics seminar.

Recently she has focused on redesigning and implementing a learning-based pedagogy in calculus that emphasizes the growth mindset. Students are given a list of learning targets covering the course content and are graded on proficiency, not on accumulation of partial credit. And, most importantly, students have multiple attempts to reach proficiency; previous unsuccessful attempts are forgiven.

Weber is a past recipient of the Dr. John Wesselink Award for Outstanding Performance in Teaching and the Frank W. Moore Award.
