About Shelby Messerschmitt-Coen

Shelby Messerschmitt-Coen has taught at Central College since 2020. She holds a Ph.D. in counselor education and supervision with a specialization in quantitative research methodology and is a licensed professional counselor. She is a proud alumna of Central, Class of 2015. Her research interests include mental health, suicide prevention, social justice and military mental health. In her free time, she enjoys taking walks, visiting local breweries and wineries, and spending time with her partner and daughter.
