Mariah Brammer ’14
After completing her sociology degree, Mariah Brammer became program counselor for ACR Homes, Inc., in Roseville, Minn.
How did you get started as a program counselor?
I applied for my job after my small group leader mentioned it — and learning it was voted the #1 company to work for in 2014, according to the Star Tribune. Now, I love bringing residents into the community through concerts, museums, zoos, libraries, movies, malls and more. The options are endless.
How did you prepare for the job before graduating from Central?
I learned more about myself than I could have imagined by attending and leading campus ministries events. I learned to put others first and to serve. I learned the importance of being a listener and being patient. And through the mission trips to Mission, Texas, I learned how to interact with other cultures and language barriers.
What’s on your bucket list?
I have a long list. To name the top few: skydiving, skiing in the Swiss Alps, witnessing a miracle, going to a barn dance and completing a triathlon.
