Christmas Candlelight Concert 2020
Central College’s music department presents the 46th annual Christmas Candlelight Concert. This year’s event will look different amid COVID-19 protocols. It will be pre-recorded on Hoekstra Family Stage in Douwstra Auditorium and premiere to an online audience at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11.
Greeting From President Mark Putnam
The show will go on.
Central College’s annual Christmas Candlelight Concert will look different in a year when so much already is. It will be pre-recorded and watched virtually instead of the traditional performance in Douwstra Auditorium.
For 46 years now, the Christmas Candlelight Concert has served as a celebration of the holiday season and the breadth of talent at the college. It always draws hundreds of enthusiasts thrilled to get into the holiday spirit.
This certainly has been a strange and trying year, but the Central family has demonstrated resilience. We will continue to persevere as we approach the holidays and a new year sure to be inspiring and filled with care for each other.
I invite you to enjoy the sounds of our Handbell Choir, A Cappella Choir and Chamber Singers as they present what most certainly — and most deservedly — is one of Central’s most cherished traditions.
Thank you for starting the holiday season with us. From all of us at Central, we wish you and those you love a healthy and blessed holiday season.
Merry Christmas!
Mark Putnam
